Disaster Recovery

Communications infrastructure is essential to recovery efforts. Whether they are required as a result of a natural disaster or network connectivity issues, communications are often required on demand with little warning. NewSat provides satellite communication solutions to overcome challenges that may arise in the event of a disaster, to ensure recovery efforts are not inhibited and help environments to be restored as soon as possible. NewSat’s engineering and operations team have the capabilities to provide disaster recovery teams with flexible, efficient communication solutions, adapted to their unique requirements. For mission critical assets with terrestrial networks, NewSat’s VSAT services can be deployed anywhere and is an ideal standalone disaster recovery tool. In the event of a disaster NewSat is able to provide satellite communication solutions for quick and effective recovery.

NewSat assisted in the bushfire recovery in one of the hardest hit communities – Kinglake, as well as Buxton during the 2009 Victorian bushfires. NewSat assisted the department with developing a technical solution using NewSat's Teleport infrastructure as well as providing 2 x CIR piles for 30 stations for Vicmap Position-GPSnet.
