Hosted Payloads
To reduce the time and expense of getting communications capacity into space, government and military agencies are increasing their utilisation of hosted payloads. NewSat's satellites provide the ability for a shared payload service that allows communication capacity to be placed in orbit without having to build and launch an entire satellite.
The rise in demand for satellite services has grown faster than the capability to provide them, resulting in this increase in 'piggyback' payloads. The nature of a hosted payload – independent communication circuitry but shared transponders and power supply – make them perfect for a variety of missions from data collection to weather analysis.
