The start of 2011 has seen exciting developments unfold for NewSat, with the acquisition of seven orbital slots, the release of positive half year results and the World Teleport Association (WTA) naming NewSat’s CEO, Adrian Ballintine, as its 2011 Teleport Executive of the year.

In addition, significant progess has been made on the Jabiru Satellite Program which will transform NewSat into an integrated global satellite operator. NewSat entered into an agreement to acquire orbital slots for accommodating satellites for the Jabiru Satellite Project. Currently licensed to AP Kypros Satellites Limited, a range of frequency assignments at several orbital slots will be exclusively sublicensed to NewSat.
The agreement covers seven orbital slots in locations that cover all continents of the globe and are ideal for NewSat's focus on high value customers and growth markets. The slots will be used to accommodate a fleet of Jabiru satellites, providing telecommunication services in the C-band, Ku-band and Ka-Band spectrum. More
NewSat's CEO, Adrian Ballintine, has also been named 2011 Teleport Executive of the Year. The Teleport Executive of the Year is awarded to an individual who has demonstrated entrepreneurship, leadership and innovation in the development or operation of a Teleport-based business. "Adrain Ballintine's intense focus on everything he undertakes has made him a force to be reckoned with. Whether negotiating for orbital slots or Teleport facilities, he works until he succeeds" said Louis Zacharilla, WTA Director of Development. Adrian will be honoured on the 15th of March 2011 during WTA's Teleport Awards for Excellence luncheon, during Satellite 2011 in Washington DC. More
